Groundwater Surveillance, Borehole Drilling and Supervision- Theory and Practice

Groundwater Surveillance, Borehole Drilling and Supervision- Theory and Practice
About the Course:

Groundwater is a strategic resource supplying water for domestic use, industry, irrigation and livestock for most African countries including Zimbabwe. More than 60% of the communities in Zimbabwe (both urban and rural) depend on ground water for portable water supply. However, in the context of climate change, food security, population growth and urbanisation the use of groundwater is set to increase. This calls for government and development partners to ensure borehole delivery is cost effective so that good value for money invested is obtained over a long term.

Hence boreholes need to be properly sited, professionally constructed and supervised. Institute of Water and Sanitation Development is offering this course which aims to develop knowledge of groundwater, siting and design of well and drilling supervision.
