IWSD is aware that some plant operators do not have satisfactory qualifications to enrol on to the national examinable courses but they have considerable experience and commitment to participate in the operations of the treatment plant. IWSD has prepared a short term program for such. This year the training course will imitate the National Certificate level but in a more simplified version for targeted participants to understand.

This programme aims to improve operation skills of treatment plant operators where they will be in a position to operate and maintain both new and old infrastructure, improve functionality of water and wastewater treatment systems, as well as delivering efficient services. The courses will also enhance the ability of the participants to respond to emergency situations that may pose a threat to public health as and when necessary.The course will take the regional approach of delivery of lectures in the following regional centres shown below.
