The IWSD was engaged by UNICEF WASH in Schools program to develop PHHE toolkits that have been adapted for rural schools for use by project to facilitate PHHE training for school health coordinators and school health club members. IWSD developed a 15 tool set kit which in addition to traditional tools that address Water, Sanitation and Hygiene encompassed new sets like

• Menstrual Hygiene Management tool - The tool assist participants to break the silence on talking about the struggles that girls face in school during their menses and provides a platform for local solutions to be sought and established.
• Blocking the Route COVID-19 tool - The deadly COVID-19 disease is a new disease and lots of myths and misconceptions have been built around it. IWSD developed a tool to assist participants to share current myths and conceptions on its causes, symptoms and management/treatment. The tool also helps the participants to identify possible blocking routes to prevent one from contacting the disease. Again the tools can also be used to stimulate a discussion on challenges faced during prevention measures and possible local solutions.
• Blocking the Route HIV/AIDS tool - The tool facilitates discussions on key HIV and AIDS facets which affects the young people which includes causes, symptoms, drivers and available preventive measures. The topic on drug abuse is also discussed during delivery of this tool.
