The short course is designed to equip line managers; water and wastewater treatment plants Superintendents/Supervisors and Works Attendants with skills and tools to effectively plan and oversee performance of the operators in service delivery in order to achieve the organizations service delivery targets and mandate.
The broader objective of the course is to improve service delivery and relations between the service provider and residents. The course will cover classical supervisory management issues (Planning, Organizing, Leading, and Control) and context specific management problems as well as solutions and various management tools used in the water supply and sanitation sector. Some of these problems include:
• Decline in the quality of work being produced by your work force.
• General misuse of equipment in your department.
• Delays in project progress feedback or lack in reporting back.
• Uncooperative personnel.
• Poor operation and maintenance of infrastructure.
• Poor revenue collection systems.
